Earth Day, April 22, 2017: 10th Annual Mauka to Makai Environmental Expo @ Waikiki Aquarium (FREE) 9am-2pm

In celebration of Earth Month, this FREE, family-friendly event will promote the importance of keeping Hawaii clean and free of pollution, from the mountaintops to the Ocean.

Guests will take part in interactive booths, entertainment and a variety of hands-on learning activities and displays that showcase preservation and protection of Hawaii’s environment. Among the activities will be a fish release and native plant giveaway from Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO).

Food will be available for purchase and complimentary water stations will be provided for guests who bring refillable bottles.

‘Oahu Block Festival – April 15, 2017

4pm – 10pm

Kalakaua Avenue, Waikiki

A portion of the festival proceeds will go towards benefiting the Easter Seals.

Fun for the whole family! Waikiki Block Festival events will feature food, handmade arts & crafts, shopping, and entertainment from local vendors and artists. Admission is FREE! As always, a portion of the festival proceeds will go towards supporting local non-profit organizations.

FREE professional development opportunity for student parents from the Parent Leadership Training Institute: Feb. 27, 5:30-7:30pm

opportunity for student parents interested in advocating in/for their community from the Hawaii Children’s Action Network (HCAN).

We are organizing an event for parents who are interested in participating in a free 20 week course with the Parent Leadership Training Institute (NPLI) that enables adults to become leading advocates in their communities.

An informational meeting is going to be held on Monday, February 27 from 5:30-7:00pm at the PATCH office. The Co-Director of NPLI, Donna Thompson-Bennet, will be present to explain more about NPLI and answer questions.

Give Kids A Smile :) FREE Dental Clinic – Saturday, Feb. 25, 8am-1pm

On Saturday, February 25 from 8am – 1pm the Makahiki Medical and Dental Clinic is hosting the third annual “Give Kids a Smile,” an event providing children 18 and under with free dental care.

The free dental clinic will provide keiki with dental screenings, teeth cleanings, and topical fluoride treatment. If additional dental services are needed, families without a dental home will be offered guidance on where they can seek dental treatment. The event will also feature entertainment and giveaways for its young guests.
